Hey, I'm trying to install xubuntu 8.10 on an old P2 computer and I'm using an old Kogi monitor. The live cd boots up fine, and I can choose an option, but when Xfce comes up my monitor comes up saying 'over size, Recomended mode 1280x1024'. I wanna change it so it boots up into 800x600 mode, but how do I do this from the live cd?

I think you can do that with F6 button but check it pressing F1(it is help).

or you can use xrandr from command line or edit xorg.conf
