Is there any way to use amarok2 in ubuntu..
i have tried using synaptic.. but i can only find the new version there..
i tried to upgrade but didn't the option of "force version" in package tab ( in synaptic) was hidden..
so, is there any way to upgrade the current version to amarok2 or download a deb package of amarok..

There are alternate repositories for this sort of thing:

http://www.kubuntu.org/amarok2-beta2

i m still not clear with the alternate repository system..
does this mean that i m trying to add the softwares that are included in kubuntu repositories.. into my repository.
and after that will i be able to use amarok2 on gnome..

i finally installed amarok2..
jst had to add the url
http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu
in the third party software tab..
and reload..
then i uninstalled the current amarok and installed "amarok kde4"
but believe me it will hardly take you 15 mins to get back to the older version..
the new version sucks..
may be it was the gnome environment... but it was hard to tolerate it for some more time..
