Please post simple definitions of what you think technology should be. No more than three sentences and no more five lines. Analogies, metaphors, and poetic license encouraged. I'll get it started.

Technology should be like a waltz: simple, elegant, beautiful. It should also be similarly well structured, full of smooth movements, and graceful transitions.

Technology should be like a meal: completely customizable by those who want to make it their own, but already prepared meals for those who can't cook. This is what Linux is, btw. ;)

Technology should be like air. Always with you, something that once you realise your need for it you cannot live without. It should feel as natural and require as little effort as breathing to do what you want.

Both Easily Breakable and Easily Fixable. It should look messy and slapped together, and not this weird glass-like feel everyone is putting on their tech nowadays. It's like someone saw THX 1138 and thought it was a good idea.

I'm probably the only one who has this taste.

It should be like a Harvey's (http://www.harveys.ca/eng/index.php) hamburger - a flame-broiled base of yummy goodness with the ability to add whatever you want to enhance the taste and make it your own. Oh...and a side of poutine...
