What are some of the Good Ubuntu and/or Linux books you've read and would definitely recommend?

Maximum Security Linux
The Debian System: Concepts and Techniques
And I gave the Ubuntu Pocket Guide a quick look, not an Ubuntu user myself but I would totally recommend it to people starting out with Ubuntu

"Point and Click Linux", the first Linux book I ever read.

http://www.amazon.com/Point-Click-Linux-Robin-Miller/dp/0131488724

That book made me decide to switch to Linux full time.

I've recently bought Linux in Easy Steps by Mick Mcgrath.

http://www.ineasysteps.com/books/details/?9781840783513

ISBN: 978-1-84078-351-3

Personally I think it's a really good book for beginners and is easy to understand. Gives detailed info about Terminal and what different commands do.

I have the Linux Ubuntu Toobox and pick it up every once in a while as a reference. It's well organized and easy to understand.

Ubuntu Kung Fu was really interesting. Also, I hear that Unix Power Tools is a really useful book.

just for fun by linus torvalds is a good book but youlearn nothing about ubuntu by reading it. i had a official ubuntu book once from the library with a dvd version of ubuntu 6-00 and it was like all other sams books i read. but goo denough even a bit outdated today. i skimmed the official ubuntu pocket guide and other than that i use mostly my own unix books. unix for dummies is one of them and kernighans the unix prpgramming enviroment. those books is great i think but relates to bsd and system V and has some similiarities wiht linus on some subjects but this is all is all i have ever read .

Well, in his post he didn't actually say what kind of books. So here is a novel that actually isn't really a linux book either. Anyways it relates to computers and is a very good book if you ask me.

It's call Digital Fortress, by Dan Brown. Its about an actually undecipherable cipher created by a man. Very good, a must read for the Tech thriller genre.

These won't help you learn how to use Linux or Ubuntu, but I highly recommend them because they are very informative and you will learn how Linux got started and why Linux got started, as well as some of the philosphy behind it. Fortunately, they are available as free eBooks.

Free for All - How Linux and the Free Software Movement Undercut the High Tech Titans (http://manybooks.net/titles/waynerpother06free_for_all.html) by Peter Wayner

Free as in Freedom - Richard Stallman's Crusade for Free Software (http://manybooks.net/titles/williams0sametext04freed10.html) by Sam Williams

The Cathedral and the Bazaar (http://manybooks.net/titles/raymondericother05cathedralandbazaar.html) by Eric S. Raymond

A bit more on topic, I picked up a copy of the Ubuntu Linux Bible a while back. I learned a lot reading that book. Looks like they are about to release an updated version (http://www.amazon.com/Ubuntu-Linux-Bible-William-Hagen/dp/0470294205/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236734860&sr=8-2) (although this book isn't free).
