Hello all,

I have developed a new Firefox add-on. The add-on lets users install backgrounds and wallpapers directly on Firefox. Although Firefox add-ons are known to be cross-platform working, the new add-on only works flawlessly on Windows specific operating systems. The add-on high probably having file and directory permission problems on Ubuntu.

Normal Ubuntu users can not and do not send bug reports. Because Ubuntu Forums brings many power users together, I thought it would be great place to find some test users for the addon.

I want Ubuntu users to try this new add-on. But before releasing the add-on to Ubuntu public, I have to fix all current Ubuntu specific bugs. So could you install the new add-on and send the possible bug reports, please?

Install for Ubuntu users:

Main Add-on Page:

Mozilla Add-on Page:

Bug Report Forum:

Here is a screenshot of a background installed on Firefox using the add-on.

The five other screenshots are also attached to this post.

Thanks in advance.

I don't get it. It's just... pictures in the browser window? Like what I'd get if I took the URL of a picture and made it my home page? Or do these actually become backgrounds for web pages? I don't see examples of that on the site, so I assume not.

On default settings, when a new tab is opened you see just a blank white page (i.e. about:blank). But this add-on displays your installed backgrounds in the blank area when a new tabs is opened. So rather useless section turns into a great wallpaper viewing panel. Check the usage by installing.

Thanks Bölvağur. Even commenting about it is valuable for me.
