View Full Version : [ubuntu] White Screen of Death? and other stuff

So I have a couple questions listed in priority and all specs about this computer is listed below

1. I've installed Ubuntu 64 bit however when I restart the computer and try to boot up ubuntu it goes to a white screen of death

2. Is my computer suited for a 64 bit version

3. I see two Ubuntu's upon installation but I made sure to uninstall it before reinstalling it

Don't have a detailed answer, but I was presented with the same problem, also have an ATI card, and it was related to the newer versions of Ubuntu automatically installing and enabling compiz upon boot.

Sorry, don't have the exact solution as it has to do with booting into a command line and removing compiz, but if you go into the audio and video forum, and do a search on "white screen", you'll find some threads with the details.
