View Full Version : [kubuntu] How to configure network card

Hey man I am having a prob configuring my network card in kubuntu .
It just responds to DHCP but I am not able to understand how to manually comfigure it.
If I try to do it by "ifconfig" the network dissconnect n never activates again .
I am in a great prob Please help meeeee

Here (http://www.prash-babu.com/2009/01/how-to-setup-static-ip-in-ubuntu.html) is one How-To for static address in Intrepid (actually more intended for Ubuntu). There are a couple more around here somewhere. I haven't used Kubuntu - I don't know if it's version of Network Manager has problems, otherwise, the "old" way was to edit the information into /etc/network/interfaces.

man I tried every thin bt cannot get through it .

Can any one frm ubuntu please help to give a specific way to config a static IP on kubuntu
