I am brand new to Linux Ubuntu. I have installed Ubuntu 8.1 on my laptop, but I really need to use MS Office. I know that Open Office comes with Ubuntu, but I personally don't like it much. I want my Office :( it's the only thing I really miss from Windows. Anyway, I found some threads that said that MS Office 2007 works with Wine 1.1.16, so I downloaded this version of Wine and installed it. I put in the cd for MS Office and it installed. I was so happy! :D But then I go to open Word and it says "Starting Microsoft Office 2007" So I keep smiling, but then it disappears and I'm hoping Word will pop up but nothing happens. So I do it again, "maybe this time it will work" but the same thing happens again, it pops up the little message at the bottom of the screen and then it disappears! Help me please!
