Hi,
I'm a new user of ubuntu and trying to use ubuntu for my very first time.
As I have a kohjinsha sx3 netbook, I've tried to install ubuntu 8.10 on my kohjinsha. However, there are little problems occurred.
Here is my procedure of installing ubuntu:

I've download the 8.10 image from ubuntu website, burned into a CD.
And I directly started installing the ubuntu from the liveCD menu. Choose entire hard disk and the installation starts normally and finished without any errors and problems.

However, it doesn't boot up. it ends up a black screen and a blinking cursor. I've search on the internet for solutions, but it seems no one success in installing ubuntu on kohjinsha.
Here are what i've found with similar problems.

"Ubuntu on Kohjinsha SC3 Again"
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1058956

"Installing on the Dell Mini 12"
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1014534

PS.
*** "Loading GRUB..." appears before it hangs
*** I can press ESC to enter the menu, but whatever i choose, it hangs.
*** However, I can start ubuntu with liveCD - "Boot from first Harddisk"
*** from the link above, I've tried all_generic_ide, nosplash. But it doesn't help
*** root(hd0,0) setup (hd0) - doesn't help
*** change video device to "vesa" - doesn't help

Is there any solution for this problem?
some said Opensuse can boot, but i dont want to install sue and ubuntu, it's complicated.

Hope there still has solution

I just want to boot up without using the live CD (the step for boot from cd on Kohjinsha is quite trouble). The driver problems can be handled later on.

i just dropped the jaunty live cd into my kohjinsha sr6 kx 06a and so far it seems to be working well enough. a little slow, but i've got the desktop going, sound is working, everything looks sweet. i'm actually thinking I might blast xp off it and go with this.... but first I guess I should play with it a little more to make sure all the drivers work
