I'm not sure if it's the AMD Phenom 9500 processor or the motherboard with built-in nVidia graphics, but trying to load the Ubuntu Live CD normally results in a busybox shell. Removing quiet + nosplash, I was able to login, but am unable to find my sata partitions.
Here is an exerpt of what I saw during nosplash...
ata3.00:qc timeout (cmd 0xec)
ata3:00: faild to identify (I/0 error, err_mak=0x4)
ata3: failed to recover some devices, retrying in 5 sec
ata3: sata link up 3.0 Gbps (5(?) status 123 5(?) control 300)
(?)- means I'm not sure what I put on paper here
Is it the CPU and/or motherboard, or should I get my old P4 to run linux? What can I do that will allow linux to be installed on my setup?
Thanks
