Hello,

I have a Macbook 4.1 running 8.10. I am wondering if there is a way to disable the green LED that turns on when the iSight camera is active. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure that's not possible. It seems the green light is activated whenever there is activity related to the camera; if it were possible to disable it, it would almost undoubtedly involve some pretty hard-core code editing. To my knowledge, it's not possible on the Mac, so it's unlikely to be possible on any other OS. I presume this is for the purpose of using it as a security camera? I can't think of any other possible reasons for wanting such a hack.

Hi, I've found a very tricky way to turn off my camera led which is quite annoying (Lenovo SL500). Play some video on youtube, than right click on the video to open adobe flash player settings and click on the camera options. Your led may turn off.
