View Full Version : [ubuntu] 2 partitions in iMac G3. How do you get at the Ubuntu partition?

iMac-G3, 36-gig, 500 RAM...
Two equal partitions: OS 10.1.5 & Ubuntu 810...
How do I boot into the Ubuntu partition?.. Ubuntu doesn't show in startup...
I'm thinking maybe it isn't really installed..?

On startup (yaboot) at second (boot) prompt: when you press Tab, what does it show? On mine, it shows "Linux" and "old" (without the quotation marks; BTW,I don't have OSX installed). It does sound that the mac os is the default under yaboot, if indeed you have 8.10 installed.

It just boots the Mac OS... I never see any trace that Ubuntu might be on the hd...

Are you holding the "option" key when you start up your computer? Holding "option" should allow you to choose whether you want to start in OS X or Ubuntu.
