Hello people of the ubuntu community some of you may know that there is a tethered jailbreak released by the dev team a friend on youtube has developed two packages for the jailbreak for mac and windows but as always we are left out the good thing is that all the jailbreak mainly happens through the command line in windows and OSX terminal except the ipod firmware restore and i want the ubuntu community help develop a way to jailbreak your ipod touch 2g in linux

so her is what we got we have
we need lib-usb according to ty'siphone help
then we need a way to run Red Snow lite i have the mac version and tried to run rs lite but it says cannot execute binary file we could fix this and get a fully working jailbreak for linux hope you give interest to this
PS to download the mac zip file go to this page http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GJJJL958 pretty big so have patience hope we make some progress ubuntu FTW

From what I know, and may be completely incorrect, is that the jailbreaking process requires the use of the Bonjour service to access the exploitable code on the hardware. If so, it would be rather difficult to do this in Linux as we have no iTunes/Bonjour support.

Again, I may be wrong.
