Gparted Live CD freezes on boot

I downloaded the live CD version 0.4.1-2 and burned it.
When trying to boot, it just freezes on the screen attached to this post.
I have a 2009 edition White macbook (Nvidia 9400M video).
Any comments would be kindly appreciated.

I have no idea if the gparted livecd even works on Macs. Why not boot an Ubuntu LiveCD? (It has gparted on it).

I had an issue where it froze on me at a different point. I burned version 3.9* and it worked fine.

I tried 3.4 but it froze on the keyboard selection screen.
Do you think I should I try 3.9? thanks

The idea crossed my mind.
I'll try that later if I have no success with gparted. thanks
