I found some related threads - but no relevant replies. So I'll try to make the problem simpler to solve:
On the default Ubuntu install, the bottom panel comes with the Window List added to it by default. The goal is to change the way the buttons on the window list behave for any particular theme.
When running Pidgin, if someone IMs me and a new conversation window opens up, I would like the window button in the bottom panel to flash or pop up as a bright colour.
Where exactly do I make edits to change the way the panel buttons behave for this "attention-seeking" state? And what do I change? Some themes have a gradually changing colour, some have two colours changing in steps, and some just have a constant but different colour than active or non-active windows..
