forgot passphrase to encrypted file

So I encrypted a file awhile back when I first got Ubuntu just to mess around with the security and now i need to get into the file but i cannot remember the passphrase i set for it and i had it set to never expire. Is there any way around this to get into my files??

I don't think so.

The encryption is too strong to break and a back door is not something you would want in encryption software.
