I have used Ubuntu since version 6.04 on the same laptop without major problem. Since upgrading to 8.10 I have no sound. No input and no output devices are recognized.Installing PulseAudio didn't make a difference.
On my new laptop my graphics card is not supported. Things are getting frustrating with Ubuntu 8.10 for me.
