Hi guys, is there anyway that I can make the windows within Ubuntu transparent like in Vista Aero Theme?

I have had a look round and cannot seem to find any instructions?

I am able to make the panels transparent as that is pretty easy, just right click on the panels etc.....

Many thanks;)

You can make window titlebars/window decorations transparent with emerald, but the actual interface elements, such as the back / forward buttons in firefox, remain opaque. You can download emerald themes (also known as beryl or compiz themes) from gnome-look.org.

If you already have compiz installed and working you might want to install the package "compizconfig-settings-manager". It will allow you to tweek your settings and change much more than the standard "Appearance Settings config".
