Hey folks,

My first experience with ubuntu will be this install. However, I currently have a file server set up running samba on pclinuxos. That was just an experiment and I found it to be extremely useful on my home network that I want to make it more permanent and safe. Hence, I want to build a new one with much more space and in a raid 1 configuration to be protected.

Now the problem, I don't see a guide here to help me with creating and installing on raid 1. I'd really like to have everything mirrored so that if one disk fails it will just come up on the other automatically. Assuming I can get this working, I'd then try to have some email messaging for disk failures.

Anyway, one thing at a time. Can anyone here direct me to a "how to" for configuring raid 1 and ubuntu in this manner? It would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
