I am having trouble installing Ubuntu. I installed it and burned it to the CD and everything. When i retart my computer the setup loads up. I click on install Ubuntu, as soon as I do so half the screen disappears. Then about 30 seconds later, out of no where the loading bar just pops up. The loading bar takes like 30 minutes and then it goes to a screen where this thing (_) is blinking. It doesn't go anywhere after that. Can someone help me because I want ubuntu.

Did you try the alternate install disk at all? It can be downloaded from the same spot, just select "alternate"

What do you mean, how can I use the alternate disk?

There are two different installation CDs that can be used to install Ubuntu:

* Default desktop installation CD - runs a graphical installer
* Alternate desktop installation CD - runs a text-based installer

You are presumably using the first one.

What I would do first is to try once more with the CD you have burnt, this time selecting F4 "Safe graphics mode" before starting the installation.

If that does not solve the problem, I would burn and try the other CD.

Also note that your PC should have at least 384 MB RAM.
