Hi forum,

I am wondering if someone knows a program for Hardy Heron Ubuntu to display the current keyboard layout. I use several languages to type and I don't remember each layout completely. Such a program would help me see in the display which key I am typing and what character the key hit produces.

In a word, I am looking for a Linux application that should do this work:

It'd be great to hear from other multilingual Linux users.

Thanks!

You can just check what character the keys you hit produce in any text field. To display the complete keyboard layout at once, right-click the panel, choose 'Add to panel' and add the 'Keyboard Indicator'. This will show what layout you're currently using on the panel. Right click the indicator and choose 'Show Current Layout' for an overview of the complete layout at once. It will also show you what key you're currently tapping.
