When I try to use a different theme, i'm told to install a gtk+ theme engine. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10
-Thanks

Try using synaptic to look for the engine quoted and install it as you would any other application. For some theme engines it will be necessary to get a .deb package from another party if they are not included in the list of packages synaptic will let you install. Be aware that those packages will not update themselves, you will have to manually recheck the sources.

Which theme were you trying to install? Have a look in Synaptic, typing gtk+ into search will show plenty of listings and you may find you need a particular one for the theme you've chosen
