I presume you mean advice about linux for the inexperienced?
Here are a couple of commands you can't live without.
1) Apropos
Want to know the command for something, copy for example.
Type apropos copy in a terminal and it will list what's appropriate.
2) man
Manual pages. A little difficult to read sometimes, but they tell you about a command and all its options.
Type man cp in a terminal and you'll see how to copy files.
As for advice about these forums, search first before asking about a problem. Whatever solution you seek may already be here.
And above all, have fun. :-)

i'll definitely agree to this
i dropped windows 6 months ago. i think i dual booted for a week, but in that week span i think i went into windows once and found out it was hosed. i figured since windows is hosed now, i would just reinstall and take over the whole hard drive since it was fresh and i didnt have much saved/downloaded. ive learned a lot, but there is still more to learn. ive had a lot of fun doing this and since ive found ubuntu and this forum, ive learned a lot and will keep on going.

I'd like to drop windwos, but I don't have my personal computer. The computer belongs to the whole family. And there's no way of earning money in free software :D
