Is there any way to set the size of fullscreen-ed windows?

Try clicking the green middle(one between the orange and red),I click the + on the top right corner in mine to make it full screen.

I think i wasnt very clear. I have put panels (transparent) left/right and top edges so i get that effect on purpose when i click on fullscreen. I would like to be able to set the size for fullscreen windows so as not to cover the full screen...!

Not exactly what he meant I don't think.

You're asking if you can create a masked area of the desktop that maximized windows won't cover, correct? If so, you might poke around in Compiz Settings Config Manager. Not on my home machine right now, otherwise I might be more help.

I cant seem to find anything in compiz and i have played a lot with the settings!:P
