Hi all,

I just bought a new mobile phone. Ericsson w800i.

Anyone know if it can be synced with linux?

I need to sync name/phone numbers/adress/email etc

What adress book would work?

Best regards
Joakim

Any luck with your phone? I'm wondering if I'm going to buy this one myself and I'm curious about how it works with linux?

Well i also have one now, but i think it needs to be done with wine or some other tool,

The phone itself shows up as a usb-disk but i have had troubles to access/write files to it, im going to try with wine and then see if the disk2phone works

what format is the adress book in? doesnt it need to be some windows-format?

ive also posted sony ericsson's company about this and i recommend that more who have this phone mail to their support to get a program to linux users with this phone

there also is an project called w00t that you can find on sourceforge.net that is aimed at these phones, but there are no real release yet, and ive mailed with the one who has that project, and he says that its mostly aimed to take out the memmory-card and get it to work in a card-reader and then mount it somehow.
maybe it'l be much bigger later ;/

But Right now i think we need to push Sony Ericsson to develop a program for linux-users and to use disc2phone throug wine.

I can use the memory card just fine in my card reader. The other thread that supposedly solved the problem says It won't sync contacts.

"The only problem is that no contacts are synced (only addressbook and todo-list). That's a shame..."

What I really would like is to have contacts (name, phone numbers etc) in linux and to sync with w800i contacts.

Also anyone know how to do recuring events in the lousy w800i calendar?

Do anyone of you who have the sony ericsson w800i have problems to transfer files/music to the phone?

my phone seems to get the files but they seem to be mangeld together, that makes the music skip and come into some other song which is very very irritating...
