amd 64 x2 overclocked

Tried to edit grub menu lst and it didn't do anything different. It shows in text field shutting/stopping tty3,tty4,tty5, and so on. then stopping bluetooth and stopping alsa. then just hangs with a line saying robert@teminal requested halt.
