View Full Version : [ubuntu] vista fonts

when i started with ubuntu i dual booted and took all the fonts from xp and put them in a .font folder in my home folder. now i am trying to find vista fonts on a pc that dual boots vista how can i get those fonts the same way, i certainly forgot what i did. i know i went into the system files but that is all i remember

have you tried installing msttcorefonts? The package is also provided by ubuntu-restricted-extras (in multiverse).

Fonts in Windows are normally in the c:\windows\fonts folder.

i think i can go to c:\windows\fonts folder on the dual boot machine and copy the ttffonts and drop them in my .fonts is that correct????

That's correct if you want them to only be available to your user account. If you want them available system-wide, then copy them to /usr/share/fonts.
