Hi!
Please take a look at my menu.
I would like to replace the firefox browser icon by a text launcher: is that possible?
I mean, replacig the icon by just text
Can I create a new menu with say my frecuent apps, just besides the ordinary menu?

Can you do what you want by right clinking the menu area and selecting "Edit menus"?

I am afraid I can't.
Just can add new menús within Aplications or System, but not create new ones to appear at the top of the bar.

Ohhhh i see. I have never tried that so i am not quite sure. There is probably a txt file you can edit to have these new option show up. I even searched Google but still nothing. Could you use the MAC like menu bar at the bottom instead? I would think thats the closest option to what you want.
