View Full Version : [ubuntu] Freezing on Boot

I recently installed Intrepid on my Compaq F700.

Everything else works great except:

After selecting Ubuntu with GRUB, the Ubuntu load screen pops up with the load bar. I can hear the hard drive spinning and working and then the orange bar below the Ubuntu logo stops moving.

My fix is: if I hold down any key on my keyboard, the bar starts back up, "bounces" from left to right and back again, then the bar starts "filling up" and everything loads as usual.

Short of this little hiccup, everything else works fine.

I'd love to just be about to let Ubuntu start up without my intervention, and I'm just hoping someone could help me out.

If someone already has discovered how to fix this or knows what's wrong, please point me in the direction.

Thanks.
