Reinstall of XPS Sound Card

Ubuntu Starter seeking help!!!! While trying to fix the well known mic problem on the Dell XPS box, I managed to remove my sound card it would appear. How do I reinstall my sound card? Double clicking on the speaker icon I get 'No volume control Gstreamer plugins or device found' and obviously no sound is currently available. Thanks in advance.
