I am using a laptop with 512MB RAM. I was running GNOME and felt that it was running very slow. Xorg was taking up around 350MB Virtual Memory. With firefox running with around 10 tabs I barely could use another application. I then tried to switch to fluxbox having heard that it is very light on resources. I have switched to fluxbox but the situation remains the same. Xorg takes around 350MB virtual memory. Yes, resident memory usage is only around 21MB but still... I remember that Xorg used to take like 100MB under gutsy. Can anybody please give me some pointers as to what could be wrong.

This is a bug at xorg.I don't remember the launchpad entry but this is a reported bug.
