Hi,
I had an older version of Ubuntu installed on an old IBM T22 laptop, I can't remember which version is was, maybe 7.XX and I decided to upgrade to 8.04. I used the package manager to install the upgrade and left it running over night.
Unfortunatly, I had a power cut this morning and I don't know how far the upgrade got! It might well have finished. But when I login now, I get a new login screen but after I login I just a blank (beige) screen.
Is this because the upgrade didn't finish properly or is it because the upgrade has found a problem with the hardware?
I have a faint recollection that I may have had a similair problem when I first installed Ubuntu a few years ago on the T22.
Thanks
