screen resolution prob

Please give me advice on what to do. After i update ubunto, and restated the pc, the resolution is lowered to 640x480 from 1440x900.

Hello there,

Maybe during the update the default driver for video card was replaced
by another one installed later by the system (just one possible reason and
not necessarily the main reason for this problem).

Did you try to modify the resolution manually by

System > Preferences > Screen Resolution ?

i tried that option but the only selection is the current resolution , no more other screen resolution to be selected.
