View Full Version : [ubuntu] Virtual Desktops Hosting Remote Sessions

I apologize if the title of the forum post isn't particularly descriptive of what I'm looking for.

Basically what I'd like to do is be able to use one of my virtual desktops to host a remote desktop session. I've never really had much call to use the virtual desktops as they are but I do have a tendency to run multiple remote desktop sessions.

Is there any software out there that is capable of having a remote desktop session bind to a virtual desktop? I'd like to be able to simply move over to one of my virtual desktop spaces and have that space be entirely a remote desktop session, without any other sign of Gnome/KDE.

Anything like that out there or am I being too vague?

Did you ever find a solution for this? I am trying to do exactly the same thing.

@nebstr: I regularly use RealVNC (Enterprise Edition) in fullscreen mode to access the machine of my mom. That really is funny when you access Windows. :) However, I can't test right now if switching between workspace is still possible then, but I believe to remember that it is.
