Is there a song that you have that really speaks to you, or is just amazingly soothing? If so, what is it?

My personal favorite is Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

BTW- Posting an American English titled topic looks kind of funny in a British company's forums.

Well I can't pick just one. Well lately I've been listening to Lightning Bolt's Megaghost a lot, but I think I'd have to be insane to call anything by them soothing :p.

Here's what I listen to:

Picking one song is harder then picking one band....

So there is no way I can choose :/.

If I had to choose one, it would be Over the Hills and Far Away- Led Zeppelin

My all-time favorite is "The One and Only" by Chesney Hawkes.

If anyone has ever seen "Doc Hollywood", it is the song that plays during the opening credits.

My favorite song changes pretty often. Like, every other day. There are consistencies in my taste in music, but not in favorite song.

Right now I'm listening to a couple albums by Schnuffel (http://www.last.fm/music/Schnuffel). What? Why are you laughing?

Favorites are a toss-up between Mein Hasenfreund and Mein schönstes Geschenk.

Most of their music is available for listening on iMeem (http://http://www.imeem.com/)

Oh boy...

Ayreon - The Human Equation (Day Three: Pain)
Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (About to Crash (Reprise))
Dragonforce - Ultra Beatdown (Heroes of Our Time)
Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream (Piano Lessons)
Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom (Cliffs of Dover)
Opeth - Ghost Reveries (Ghost of Perdition)

Those just come to mind, though I generally listen to the album straight through for all of those CDs. They're all just so damn good!

In no particular order

The Horses - Rickie Lee Jones
Well I Wonder - The Smiths
Everything Counts- Depeche Mode
Highway Patrolman- Bruce Springsteen
Like a Hurricane - Neil Young
Box of Rain - Grateful Dead

and of course .......

Nothing Special - The Jazz Butcher

While AC/DC don`t make the list, as a few people have mentioned them, I will say that side 2 (remember when albums had 2 sides) of Back in Black has the best opening 2 tracks of a side 2 ever (Back in Black followed by You Shook Me All Night Long)

Although I'm one of those odd people who can actually hear the difference between mp3 and CD quality so I generally play CDs on my hifi system when I'm at home. I play rock mainly, although for some reason I like dance like Cascada and whatever Basshunter is supposed to be, along with Pendulum's own brand of drum & bass. I should point out I often don't care who a song is by though - I readily admit to listening to Kelly Clarkson and some Girls Aloud and Sugababes, even though people think I'm strange. Oh, hang on, I am. :P Favourite songs include The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, Bat Out Of Hell and The Final Countdown.

Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne almost made my cry the first time I heard it so it must be pretty good!

All time randomest awesomest music ever : J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor: Youtube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipzR9bhei_o)

Over the Hill and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Also, Everlasting Gaze by Smashing Pumpkins is awesome.
