Is there some sort of Loco team for Western PA? If not, I would be up to helping running it, or setting it up. It seems as if, all the team is migrated towards Harrisburg, which is pretty good distance for me to travel. So just wanted to know.

There have been a couple of release parties in Pittsburgh, but thus far no one has stepped up to actively lead and plan events out west.

Please feel free to start getting things going out that way! Eastern PA doesn't have a leader as such, people just think of events and go about planning them. If you build it, they will come :)

Check out our Administriva page for info on how to go about planning and promoting:

It would be cool to have something close to pittsburgh. There were some meetings going on north of pittsburgh (Butler) that i was close to, but i moved to the south part of the city and it would be nice to have events over here. We had a release party for one of the previous releases, and it went rather well.

I would be willing to participate, of course.

Greetings. I would like to get together with other Linux users to discuss and learn more about Linux and Ubuntu. I know there is a LUG that meets down at CMU in Oakland but I hate driving into that part of the city even on weekends. I saw a reference here about a group in Butler but have not been able to find any contact information nor anything about them from Google. I live in the Allegheny Valley around the Oakmont area so I would prefer meeting with a group that was more toward my "end of the world". If you are from Pittsburgh you will understand.;)

Please reply here or drop me a note in email to wa3fkg(AT)gmail.com and we can get together. Thanks!
