Help with Vent Please

Okay so i have the lattest version of Wine and installed the lattest version of Vent and everything seemed to be working fine but when i logg on to a server i get the message

Failed to get encoder for specified Codec.

Unable to initialize outbound codec (GSM 6.10 - 44 KHz, 16 bit): Unable to find the specified codec

and i cannot hear anyone or use any hotkeys or test my mic

when i try to test my mic i get the message

codec initialization failed

unable to find specified codec.

please help

I have no idea regarding the game you mention and it sounds like you need some advice specific to that game... I would recommend reading up on that game at the wine site and checking the forums there...

if all else fails get the latest version of wine from the wine site....When I was getting my games to run it was there I learned that the repositories have older versions...This was back in 8.04 so it's been a while...Getting latest version helped a lot for me back then...
