I am using vnc4server-4.0.7.3-amd64, and it works fine on ubuntu 8.10 64bit.
But the update manager asks to install the latest version 4.1.1, and it doesn't work for me. when starting vncviewer, it reports end-of-stream after typing the password. So I have to downgrade to the 4.0.7.3.
Any idea about this? the update manager still keeps to ask install the new version, any way to remove this update request? thanks
