Linux Noob using Acer Extensa 5630Z and Ubuntu 8.10 64bit.
Generally, the sound works. I get the start-up sounds, I can play music and videos, all internet related sounds work (so far).
Problems: For certain programs (Skype, Xchat) I get no sound at all, not even a beep. I've switched to the ASLA (or whatever its called) with no results.
Another problem is in a FPS game I play... the sound is there, but always about a half-second delayed. Playing is still possible but its very distracting...
Any help would be appreciated!!
