Does anybody know a simple way on compiling Open Office 3.0 from source on Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Its taking forever with all tool chain problems. I'm on the verge of giving up. I was GOING to write a guide on compiling Open Office 3.0 from source on Ubuntu but its just too much of a pain. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to solve the dependency issues.

I did a compile a few months back for a bit of a laugh and it was an absolute pain in the donkey.
Save yourself and add the PPA to your repositories list :)
