upgrading to 8.10

just a quick stupid question, couldnt find anything on the search. if i upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 will i loose all the data on my harddrive, eg pictures, music etc

Many users have lost all their data while upgrading the OS. They have made a wrong choice of responses. There are good tutorials for upgrading procedures, but even so some people will chose the wrong option.

That is why it is critical to fully back up all your data, the whole data drive, not just your personal folders.
