View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wireless LAN won't reconnect after suspend/resume

Hello all,
I'v just installed the latest release of Ubuntu (8.10) on my laptop, an HP NC8000.
I can connect using the WiFi to my Router (a Thomson SpeedTouch).
I'm using WPAPSK for security.
If I restart, I can reconnect.

However, if I suspend, then resume, the machine attempts to reconnect but always fails.
Is this a known problem? If so, is there a workaround?

Thanks.

When you say you can't connect do you mean that your computer does not automatically re-connect, or that you have manually tried to reconnect and that fails as well?

It attempts to reconnect - puts up a prompt with SSID and WPA KEY filled in.
If I press OK, it fails.
If I erase the key and retype it, it still fails.

Yet if I restart, and type the key in, all is OK.

As an aside, is there any way to get it to connect silently, rather than putting up a dialogue box?

Thanks
