Hello.
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 8.10 ( both 32 and 64 bits ) versions for intel.
During the copy process from the CD to HD ( sata drive ) the installation starts showing messages about corrupted files being copied onto the HD.
I've tried different images, cd's, and installing on different hd's.
As far as I found on google, I think it might be a problem with the ICH7 chip that is on the motherboard ( asus P5B-MX ).
The big question is : is there any workaround to have the system installed on a sata drive using such motherboard ?
Thanks.
