8.10 instal problem

Hi I can install 7.10 on my Home PC
but when i try to install 8.10 it hangs
I have checked CD - no probs
Live CD will load in safe Graphics but not in Normal mode.

So all help will be appricated as trying to get off windows
but thi this is first toe in the water...

try the alternate installer

HI tried That
Went back and installed 8.04 with no probs
so must be hardware compatibility with 8.10
So I am happy for now

Hmm... well the alternate install and the live cd both use the same kernel. No hardware issue based on the looks of it.
