Different between xubuntu and ubuntu?

Well i was just wondering i tend to be a resource freak. I first started on the buntu family in my first two days i used xubuntu. For the most part i haven't seen any big differents sept speed least for me.

I mainly do gaming on my box (urban terror). I was thinking about switching back to xubuntu lol. Is there anything i should know before i head back?

I mean as far as looks go i don't turn on the desktop effects or anything cause it just seems to lag my game.

So is there a whole bunch of different stuff about it? or will i be able to do everything for the most part i'm doing now?

you can do everything in xubuntu that you can do in ubuntu, the difference is just that xubuntu uses the xfce environment, while ubuntu is using gnome
