I've got two computers (both ubuntu) that are each hooked up to separate monitors. I'm looking to control the 2nd computer with the 1st as if it was a 2nd monitor. I know I can control it via VNC, but preferably I'd like to be able to just move my mouse over to it as if it were just another screen.

How would I do something like this?

I think you'd have to hook up dual monitors to one machine, then VNC to the other in full screen mode. That how I do it at least.

I use quicksynergy to do this.

You can install it from the package manager.

Run it from terminal with "sudo quicksynergy"

edit

you have to run the software on both machines. One is the client, the other is the server.

Quicksynergy! That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
