i cant install Ubuntu

hi,

i tried to install it but every time it freeze. I have both 7.10 and 8.04 LTS versions but i cant install any of it. I didnt burn the CDs , CDs are original came with post. I tried both SATA and AHCI disks from bios but still cant install. Installation frezzes in the first minute of process. I will be glad if anyone can help, give any clue because i really want to use ubuntu and get rid of win xp.

Take a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions regarding how to use boot options.

On 8.04, IIRC, there was a problem for some with recognition of SATA drives during installation. The boot option to use for installation was "all_generic_ide", which worked for many people. Good luck.
