nVidia Installation

HI,

I have noticed in the add/remove applications section there is alot of support fro nVidia.

Should the process of upgrading my card be as simple placing the card into the machine and installing those add/remove packages?

PS. I am running Ubuntu 8.

You can install the correct driver for it by going to System>Admin>Hardware Drivers.

Yup. Pop in the card, hook up the monitor, turn on the computer and it should be recognized. Use the non-free drivers.

I am assuming the hardware driver section will be populated once I get the nVidia drivers downloaded from the add/remove application.

Right now it is empty.
