Laptop shopping

I know this questions is asked a lot, but the answer is always changing so I'll ask it again. Can anyone recommend a good laptop that 1) runs ubuntu well and 2) has some sort of decent graphics card (as in nvidia or ati)? I'm looking for something around the $500 mark on some kind of great sale =). Thanks for any info! :D

Not sure where you are, but here in spain Compaq has some nice cheap laptops that run ubuntu fine. It's the CQ60 range- check'em out.

Only flaw i've found is DPC latency spikes when running XP - not so good for music production.
