So i finally installed version 10 of flash player. this is the only version i think that i was able to successfully install. i say this because it is the only one that showed up as a plugin on Firefox after installing. The problem i am having now is that flash is picking which videos it wants to play. 9 times out of ten it will just show a black screen and if i right click the screen it states that the movie was not loaded. any ideas on what i should try next would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the default GNASH plug-in still installed? If so, get rid of it, as it creates some problems when installed as well.

for 64bit flash see our forum x86 64-bit Users section: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=772490 This is the simplest of simple install for 64 bit flash. It has worked flawlessly for me on Hardy, Intrepid & now Jaunty.

First remove any flash packages you have installed including gnash and swfdec. Then follow the link above. it is so simple a caveman can do it.
